Sessions

Our Sessions

Our sessions are structured on specific themes and we pride ourselves on doing something new, creative and innovative every day. Children learn new life skills, have a sense of accomplishment and a thirst to do more. Communication is core in everything we do. Children are positively encouraged to express themselves and be respectful of one another, the team and their environment. During the Summer term, the after school club children benefit from a weekly trip one day a week to a local park or recreation area on the minibus.

Children undertake a variety of theme based arts and crafts. The arts element is fully extended to include: cookery, STEM challenges, music, public speaking, writing, performing arts, shop window displays, gardening, 3D design and much more.

Theme-based work has included: Mardi Gras, World Kindness Day, Easter, Christmas, Claude Monet, Jackson Pollock, Symmetry, Mixed Media. Paper Mache, Suncatchers, Clay sculptures, Exploring Famous Artists, Frida Khalo’s Sun Crown, Dream Catchers, DIY Fridge Magnets, Pop Art pictures and much more.

Typical Session

Children participate in ‘circle time’ whereby they are given the opportunity to read and share their day’s experiences. These activities provide children with
an opportunity to practise their reading skills and to share with others. This supports and helps their self-confidence and esteem. We very much allow children to positively express themselves in a way that fosters their overall well-being.

Training and Volunteering Opportunities

Antz Kidz is a strong advocate of supporting students, young adults and those seeking experience in the childcare sector. We accept Duke of Edinburgh students and work alongside the Department of Work and Pensions to help secure employment and training opportunities for those long term unemployed.

Community Work

We have a long established relationship with local charities in Farnham Common and Langley in terms of producing window displays for them (based on the children’s artwork), Home Slough in the High Street where the children’s work has also been displayed. We have been actively involved in the Love Slough Festival and delivered various family workshops at The Curve.

We work in collaboration with various homeless charities and organisations by donating food and essential items. In addition, we receive support from Goodgym, Slough with whom we have a mutual collaborative approach. We also support Slough families through various community artistic projects and work in partnership with Slough Borough Council to deliver the Holiday and Food Activities program also known as HAF. We have a strong ethos of connecting with and supporting our local community. Moreover, we have various collaborative working arrangements in place which provides a positive role model to our children and their families.

Holiday and Food Activities Program
Holiday Camps

Over the last two years, Antz Kidz has worked in partnership with Slough Borough Council o deliver the Holiday and Food Program for children that would not ordinarily have the opportunity to attend such a scheme over the Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays. The program runs for 3 to 4 days of a week with a weekly trip.

We provide a range of high quality activities and food provision for children that were entitled to free school meals as well as those that are free paying. We had a some wonderful feedback and were overwhelmed with Marcus Rashford retweeting a video of our children singing which reached 27.2K views in 2021.

Giving Tuesdays

We are committed to helping parents and families. Every Tuesday, we provide free fresh and ambient to groceries children and parents through our own funded food provision which they can help themselves to. We know the value of children eating well and how tired parents are after work and this provision is our way of supporting them.

Family Workshops

We recognise that parents are busy and there is very little time during the week to get creative with their children. Since 2021, Antz Kidz has been carrying family workshops for children and parents thus allowing them to develop their creative and artistic skills. For family workshops, please contact us on 020 8050 9121. We cover Berkshire and Buckinghamshire
