About us

Background

Antz Kidz was established as an after school club in January 2018 as an emergency response for children whose local childcare provider in Farnham Road relocated at short notice. To date, we have been operating for 5 years and made huge progress. We now offer Holiday Clubs for all school holiday’s. We work in collaboration with Slough Borough Council offering the free Holiday & Food Activities Program. In addition, we run workshops for children and families, teacher workshops for schools and after school clubs in designated schools.

Our Story

Call it serendipity! Eva was recovering from surgery during her career break when she was approached by the headteacher of a local school to set up a provision for children who had no after school care. With no alternative solution and parents potentially having to move their children to a new school, Antz Kidz was established at a local church hall with just seven children and two team members. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength. Just look at us now!

Our Mission

At Antz Kidz, we are privileged to be looking after children. We value and appreciate the trust that parents have placed in us with their prized possessions and we want to deliver on that trust. We want children to be inspired and excited to go to school and enjoy the best years of their life. We want children to be safe knowing that they can be the best version of themselves. We are about developing and growing positive roles models for the future. Through our interactive and fun sessions, we promote positivity and show children that they can indeed achieve. Antz Kidz is all about accomplishment, challenging ourselves and inspiring others through artistic and creative means

Not for profit

We are a not for profit organisation that relies on funding to provide free activities for children during Easter, Summer & Christmas. We recognise that with the cost of living crisis that these activities can become difficult to afford. Whilst we try and do everything we can to provide value for money and keep costs to a minimum we also know that we need help too. If you are able to support us, please go to our gofundme page here.

Why am I doing this?

This is a question – I often get asked. Very simply – each an every one of us has everything inside us to be the best possible version of ourselves. When we were born, we were given a unique set of skills and we were destined to use them and that is what I am doing. We are the creators of our own destiny. I love art, creating new things, up-cycling, recycling, organising, planning anything goes. There is not a day that goes by that I am not moved or inspired to share my skills with children and those around me. Creativity is the way I express myself. I know the value of talents and the importance of using them. Life is too short not to be happy doing what you are good at.

Sarah

Hi Im Sarah, I have been volunteering in Antz Kidz since I finished Year 6 and I am now in Year 8.I like volunteering with Antz Kidz because it is the first after school club which I joined as a pupil before volunteering, I enjoyed how Antz Kidz covered the Homework aspect, as well as the creative elements, from art, to STEM and much more. I loved the diverse spectrum and how there was lots to do. Antz Kidz is a club which emphasises on helping those who are less fortunate, for example, during Christmas the kids made Christmas cards and sent them to an elderly care home and before the pandemic they were giving out free groceries to families in need. It really touches my heart how Antz Kidz sets an example for the younger years and I am immensely proud to be a part of the team.
