Meet Eva Antao: Founder, Director, and Advocate for Creativity

Eva Antao is the visionary founder and director of Antz Kidz, an innovative creative arts organisation for children aged 5 to 11 in Berkshire together with families. With over 25 years of experience across the public sector, including local government, a regulatory authority, and the civil service, Eva has been a driving force behind numerous charities and community projects in both England and Portugal.

A former school governor and chair of governors, Eva is a dynamic and self-motivated mother of two, passionate about extracurricular activities that help children unlock their full potential. Her dedication to charitable causes and child development is deeply rooted in her belief that artistic activities can inspire creativity and growth in every child.

Eva’s commitment extends beyond childhood education. She also provides mentorship and opportunities for students and young adults to develop essential life skills, preparing them for future success. Coming from a family of artists and creatives, specialising in areas like textiles and 3D design, Eva uses her own talents to inspire and nurture the next generation of creative thinkers and innovators.

A Message from the Founder – Eva

Many people ask me why I do what I do. The answer is simple: I believe each of us has everything we need within ourselves to become the best version of who we are meant to be. From the moment we are born, we are gifted with unique talents, and I truly believe we are destined to use them. That’s what drives me—embracing creativity and making a positive impact through creative learning and exploration.

For me, creativity is at the heart of everything. Whether its art, upcycling, recycling, organizing, or planning, my passion lies in bringing ideas to life and sharing that joy with children and those around me. Not a day goes by that I’m not inspired to use my skills to help others, especially the young minds I work with. Creativity is how I express myself and connect with the world.

I’ve learned the value of embracing your talents and the importance of nurturing them. Life is too short not to pursue what you love and are truly good at. That’s why I founded Antz Kidz—to inspire children to discover their creativity and potential, just as I have found mine.

Passionate Volunteer and Advocate for Children

My name is Salvatore Caterini, and I proudly embrace my Italian heritage while currently residing in Slough. After retiring, I felt a strong desire to engage in voluntary work to maintain my mental and physical well-being. I have been a part of Antz Kidz since its inception seven years ago, and I am incredibly proud of the growth and achievements we have made together.

Antz Kidz has truly transformed my life, giving me a renewed sense of purpose. I feel privileged to care for children and collaborate with an amazing team dedicated to promoting the well-being of every child. The impact we’ve made at Antz Kidz is significant, and I am honoured to contribute to such a meaningful mission.

Proud Volunteer at Antz Kidz

Hello! I’m Sarah, and I have been volunteering at Antz Kidz since I completed Year 6; I’m now in Year 10. My journey with Antz Kidz began as a pupil, making this the first after-school club I joined. I appreciated how the club balanced homework support with creative activities, including art, STEM, creativity and much more. The diverse range of activities kept me engaged and excited.

Antz Kidz is dedicated to helping those in need, which is something I truly admire. For instance, during Christmas, we created handmade cards and sent them to a local elderly care home. Before the pandemic, we also distributed free groceries to families facing hardships. It warms my heart to see how Antz Kidz sets a positive example for younger children, and I am immensely proud to be part of such a compassionate team.

My name is Emma, and I am currently pursuing my undergraduate degree at university. I have been working with Antz Kidz for two years, and I thoroughly enjoy my experience, especially during the holiday clubs. Each camp is meticulously planned, and I always look forward to returning.

Hello! I’m Bassey, a dedicated educator with over 10 years of experience working with children in various educational settings, including holiday clubs. My heart is filled with joy and laughter as I witness the incredible possibilities that arise when children are given the freedom to play, learn, and grow together. I hold an MSc in Children, Young People, and Family Wellbeing, which enriches my approach to education.

I truly enjoy my work with children, and I believe that Antz Kidz Activity Centre is the perfect environment for fostering their development. It’s wonderful to see children make new friends and engage in enriching activities every day.

Hi there! I’m Kiran, the Social Media and Session Leader at Antz Kidz, where I combine my passion for engaging with children and the community with my skills in digital communication. As the Social Media Leader, I manage our online presence, showcasing the incredible activities and experiences we offer at Antz Kidz.
